Officially a Toddler!

Well, I always knew my baby wouldn't be a baby forever, but it wasn't until I saw this picture that I thought... he's officially become a little man. The turning point could have been when he said his first sentence, "Bye bye Daddy" a few days ago, or the fact that he can open and close drawers and cupboards all by himself, or when obeys when I say, "Go throw this away for Mommy"... and he comes back beaming having done exactly what I asked, or the fact that he can go down the slide all by himself at the park, or that he insists on buckling his own car seat and feeding himself oatmeal, or that he looks over his shoulder at me with very suspicious eyes as he tiptoes into the forbidden bathroom (he knows thats a big no no), or that he gives hugs and kisses on demand and exclaims "Momma" when I come get him up from his nap, or asks for "nana's" whenever he's hungry, and put food on his head when he's done eating, or when he says, "Uh Oh" as he dumps his food off his high chair, or when he starts flapping his arms and bending his knees whenever he hears music (his unique dance moves, pretty sure he got those either from his dad, or Napoleon Dynamite!... they both have curly hair), or that he calls the plug-in air freshner "No No" because that's what I say when he pulls it out of the wall, or the fact that he'll be 16 months tomorrow... All of these things happening and I guess I just didn't want to admit that my baby is no longer a baby, but I think its time for graduation...congrats Jackers... you're officially a toddler!

Hi Mel! Your little man is so cute!! His hair is so blonde. I did that the other too with Bryson. I was had asked him to throw something away and he came back clapping cause he did it. Before you know it, they will be speaking full sentences that we can actually understand!

Melanie, I want to go to the Reunion so bad!! We've been wondering if anyone else is going...but it sounds like a lot of people are. Brent needs some convincing...so, I would work on him. :) Are you guys in Arizona this summer?

Hello Melanie!! It's been ages since I've seen you. Your little family is beautiful; Jack is darling. I think I'm going to have a hard time watching my kids grow up and get old (I even have a hard time with my nieces and nephews).

Glad you said hi :)

I'm so glad you found my blog! It looks like you are enjoying life and motherhood. How can you not, when being a mom is the best job in the world! Your little boy is so cute, he seems like such a happy go lucky boy. I know Olivia and him would be good friends. You look beautiful as always, you were always smiling and still are. I always loved that about you. Well keep in touch! If ever in mesa and have time to hang out, let me know.

Hey, Mel. Thanks for the comment. Wow, it has been about five years, hasn't it? We'll have to break that streak next time you're down here, huh? I haven't even met your husband and boy yet. I hope everything is going well for you guys.

Melanie!!!! You're family is sooo cute! I'm sure you (and your husband) cannot wait for ther first year of law school to be over! I can't imagine what my classmate's spouses go through... it must be so hard! Luckily for me my boyfriend is in law school too - so he knows exactly what I'm going through! Although our dates usually consist of studying ;)

It's so good to hear from you! When will you be in AZ next? I'm coming home for about a week in May, if you happen to be there we should catch up!

Good luck with the rest of the semester!
XOXO

They grow up so fast! Sometimes I wish I could just freeze time, and sometimes I would like to fast forward. Before you know it he's gonna be 2 and they start a whole new independance when they turn 2. That's usually when I start wanting another baby.
