4th of July we spent at our cabin in Pine AZ. Since it was on a Friday we had a nice long weekend to enjoy the festivities. John got off work Thursday and we stayed in Mesa that night and had our own family BBQ, went swimming, and rented a movie. It's the first time just our little family was alone since we came to AZ and we had such a fun night. We met my brother Dave and his family and my sister Jana and her family up there and had a blast. This 4th of July was definately up there on our top 3 EVER.

We enjoyed the traditional flag sugar cookie.

Ate yummy watermelon...
And took lots of pictures at this beautiful park were we thought we'd enjoy the fireworks.

My sister Jana and her 2 girls, Bekah and Mikayla.

Daddy and Jack

Jack and the Soelberg boys: Josh, Jake, Jess! We stayed with the Dave and Shelle Soelberg family for a couple weeks while my parent's basement was remodled. We had so much fun getting to know their family a little better and Jack still asks for "Josh, Jake and Jess".

Jack was a little distracted by all that was going on. But we got a few good ones before the storm hit...

It came on so quickly. We could see the clouds getting darker and darker, then all the sudden it was coming down in buckets! Everyone picked up a kid and started running for cover! Shelle had Sadie and John had Jack. Luckly I just had the camera and stopped under someone's tent to snap a quick photo! It was a mad dash...

We were freezing and wet. We wanted to wait out the storm to see the fireworks, but there was no sign of it slowing down. So we went to the nearest Wendy's and waited and waited and waited for our food. They seriously took 45 minutes for us to get a single french fry! Thank goodness I had a few Coco puffs in my purse!
The rain did stop and for those of us who weren't too freezing, we stayed and enjoyed the fireworks. My sweet sister, Jana and her husband McKay went back to the cabin with thier kids and took Jack home to bed. John and I had a lovely evening under the stars... well fireworks I guess. It was so fun.
