Arizona wrap up--

So, I'm still alive! Yes, it's been a while but after a few weeks without the internet, leaving Arizona, to living in California for a few weeks, to visiting family in Idaho, and back to North Carolina to start school, I figure I had a pretty good excuse. While I was growing up I prefered the journals with loose leaf papers because when I got so far behind with my journaling, I knew I could write something important on that day and always go back and give further details when I had more time. If I had a binded journal I just wouldn't do it because the feeling of "catching up" would always overwhelm me. Call me crazy, but knowing that I could insert a story and keep it in chronological order, made me feel so much better. Not sure why, but it did. I say that partly cuz that's how I've felt with this whole summer keeping up with our blog. But when you think about it, who really cares? Anyway, I hope to get back into the swing of things, but in the mean time, here's a little about the end of our summer in AZ.

We spent majority of our summer in AZ. We lived with my parents for 9 weeks while John worked for Lewis and Roca (a law firm in Phoenix). While we were there we had a lot of good times, took a lot of pictures, and stayed extremely busy. Here's a quick wrap up of our time in AZ...

We love any excuse to get together for a sister's luncheon. Whether it's a birthday, someone visiting from out of town, or simply cuz Shelle got her braces off... we love getting together. The decision of where to eat was undoubtedly Crackers Cafe... every time! So yummy.

This is a typical Sunday evening at my parent's house. After dinner, the grandkids usually go outside for a little play time, and as soon as they hear "Dessert is served" they come running. They know right where to find G&G Soelberg dishing up the goods!

Why the heck not? My sister in law Erica called one morning and said, "I'm going to try out for Arizona Idol, come with me!" So, my sister Ashlyn and I decided it would be fun to go support Erica and cheer her on while she tried out. But, with along enough drive and a little convincing on her part, Ashlyn and I ended up auditioning. We had such a fun time together and after all... why the heck not?
For father's day, John was convinced that all he wanted were these workout videos he saw on an infomercial on ESPN. They're called P90X. It started off as a joke, we were just going to try their 90day trial, but we really got into them. They come with 12 different workour videos focusing of different parts of the body. There's legs and glutes, arms and back, abs, .... Actually, I woke up one morning at 6am with Jack and my mom was doing the cardio workout in our upstairs living room! Pretty much, the whole family got into them and they became quite the entertainment. One morning 4 of us sisters got together and did the 1 1/2 hour YOGA video. I'm not quite sure what all the kids were going at that time, but we sure enjoyed doing Yoga on my parent's big TV! Anyway, Jack never likes to be left out of a party, so he was doing stretches with mommy!
No more cake! In the summer time, our family pretty much has a birthday at least once a week! Not really, but we did celebrate quite a few while we were there. We were in CA for 3 weeks and missed 4 sister's birthdays that lived in AZ: Jana (July 24th), Amber (Aug. 2nd), Ashlyn (Aug. 7th), and Erica (Aug 9th). Plus there was Jenica's on July 28th and Adena's is on Aug 5th! I guess that's what happens when there's so many of us... It's fun.

AmyLyn came down for a week while we were there and I'm pretty sure she was cutting hair the entire time she was there. If you look closely on the clock in the back ground, it's 12:03AM! What better time to cut hair? I love her sweet beauty school skills :-)

My cute nephew Braiden Duffy and Uncle Johnny show off their gorgeous curls!! I can't get enough of these curls!

A few of my cute nieces. We loved having the Duffy family come visit over the summer. ... Bethany Duffy, Mikayla Marriott, Emma Adams, Kourtney Maughan.

This is AmyLyn's cute Sabrina, picking up the left over scraps under Jack's high chair-

My nephew's Truman and David Walker out enjoying the cow on a Sunday afternoon. They must have some of their daddy's Idaho blood in them!

I have been checking your bog for weeks waiting for a new post. I'm so glad that you had a good time this summer although I don't know how you did it with a toddler. I don't think I could have traveled that much with Eva. It was so great to see you guys too. I only wish we would have had more time and that Greg could have been there. Oh well next time. But it's great to have you back and posting again.

I'm a "catch-up" nerd too... haha. Thus - you'll hear about what we've been doing "lately" in about a month... haha.

As for John - thanks for the condolences. That's os fun that you and Joe got to meet my Aunt Clyde. She was one of my most favorite people in the whole world. I'm glad you got to meet her. The funeral was really nice, but it's hard to know she's gone. Aww the memories...

Anyway - I'm glad y'all are doing well. You have such a cute little family. We miss you guys!

I am so glad that I happened upon your blog. It's good to hear you got to spend time in AZ before heading back to North Carolina. Best of luck to ya! What a fun adventure. Brian & I are hoping we get a chance like that too :) Your little Jack is so handsome, but I'm sure you both know that! I hope our little guy turns out half as cute as yours. He is adorable!!!
