It all started when some of the AZ grandkids came over to Grandma's house to write/draw Happy Birthday letters for Uncle Jaren (My little bro is on a mission in Argentina). I was aware of Jack's constant desire to eat crayons... but MARKERS? Honestly... He did a little more eating than coloring!

Caught red handed!

Oops...Hurrying to put the lid back on.

Going in for just one more quick taste and of course avoiding all eye contact with Mommy cuz he knows he's doing something wrong!

OK, now he's seriously hurrying to put the lid back. He's BUSTED!!

Aiden does the same thing so, new rule... no markers for a few months to see if he grows out of it :)

What a good mom you are to take pictures of him instead of getting after him...or did you do that too?? Haha!! The story going along with the pictures is so funny!!

I think little Jackers looks cute with blue lips :) Glad to hear that the "Pistachio" incident didn't turn out too bad...we had one of our own after a jar of Ham&Pineapple...YIKES!! So I was all excited to see the professional pics you had done of Jack...but you didn't post any :) Do we get to see them? Man he is getting so big..I can't believe I won't be able to give him a big squeeze in August :)

Oh my - what a little stinker! lol - he is such a cutie Melanie!

How is your summer going? I'm sure it's nice to see more of your hubby... I made the mistake of taking a summer class (income tax) and it is so boring!

Hope all is well - your family is so cute!

Ok, so I'm glad Eva isn't the only one who still puts crayons and makers in her mouth.

I wonder which color tastes the best? By Jack's expression, I'm guessing blue!

Hey I was in the Magic Valley on Saturday and I saw the youngin' Jesse on the Honda 250 with his pipe moving apron on. It took me back to the day during that summer when John Jacob were professional pipe movers for his dad. I remember thinking at the time "I hope my life life will amount to more than this" That was just 11 years ago - I am glad things have changed.

I love the play-by-play of the marker eating party. Jack is such a cutie. I am glad he is OK after eating the Pistachio - that can be scary. I told Kolby I wanted to be right outside the hospital when we gave Cohen PB for the first time bc his cousin has severe nut allergies. Luckily he was fine. Miss you guys!

Your little boy is darling! Melanie you don't know me but I know your husband from back in the days of FFA and I came upon your blog. My mother is the famous Ma B whom I am sure John remembers. Anyways my mom and I were checking out your blog and we wanted to say hello!!

Mel, I love to check out your blog from time to time... and LOVE this post. I have pretty much the same series of Parker but with a red PERMANENT marker. Surprisingly, it only got on his skin not one speck on his clothes, walls, furniture, etc. And even more surprisingly, it all washed off with out any hard scrubbing. So, it's all good and worth the great photos and memories! My friend taught me to always grab a camera and take a picture if you find your kids did something that you just want to scream at them about. Somehow it makes you laugh and not be quite so mad!
