Every year, 2000 crazy graduate students spend 36 hours camping in tents, RVs and U-hauls, for the chance to be placed in a lottery to win the opportunity to purchase Duke Basketball season tickets at full price! INSANITY!!

John was on the campout committee this year and he was in charge of the trash... yucky. If there was one job I would never sign up for, it would be trash at campout. But, he got season ticket out of the deal!

They ring this really loud siren and people come sprinting out of the wood works to get into this line. They have to show their number (written in perm marker on your hand) to the check in committee and if you miss one check, you're no longer in the drawing for a season ticket.

Jack wanted his number checked too!!

The people in the tents stayed here...

the people in RV's stayed here

John and I headed the PALS (Parents Attending Law School) fundraiser. I'm sad to say it was a TON of work for not that much profit. We sold lemonade, pizza, icecream, and otter pops. Pizza didn't really sell and we ran out of otter pops. I'm glad that part was over.

We cleaned up the fundraiser and I headed home around 6pm with the boys because John had a "trash" gathering. But then I realized, I'm going home to an empty house with grouchy kids and I haven't seen my husband in 2 days... so I turned around and went back to campout to hangout for the rest of the evening. Good choice :-)

We finally got to sit down and see Daddy. Usually at campout you just sit around and eat junk food (some play beer pong) but this is the first time he'd sat down the entire time. That trash seriously was non stop!

We're all tired and ready to go home. It's been a L...O...N...G... day. Unfortunately John had to stay until the next morning to clean everything up.

Trash, Trash, and more Trash...

Surely he didn't sign up for that job??? That picture with him next to the port-a-johns carrying trash was simply pitiful. I LOVED how you said, trash, trash, and more trash. I laughed out loud. What a crazy cultural tradition! Love you
p.s. you look fabulous Mel...pretty much every picture you post you look awesome. Looks like you're losing the weight I'm gaining! We need to be pregnant at the same time some day!
