Party With our LLM friends!

John and our friend, Kip Nelson, co-teach a seminar of LLM students. They are all practicing lawyers in their countries but they come to study at Duke for 1 year to get a masters in international law. We had them over for dessert night on Sunday (November 30th) and they each brought a dish from their country. It was so fun!

Jack was a big ole flirt and loves being tickled!

Left to right: Cari fromEngland, Aagje (Anna) from Belgium, Laura from France, Isabelle from France, Seljan from Azerbaijan

A few of the students.

Ismael and his girlfriend Nicole both from Peru, Tania from India, Cari, Laura and Gonzalo also from Peru.

Jack was pretty satisfied with good ole American ice cream!

We had Argentine candy bar, English Trifle, French crepes, American apple crisp, Kazakhstan cheesecake...

My favorite part of the night is when they all kissed me on the cheek to say thank you and good bye. Why don't we do that in America? I love it :-).

Sounds like loads of interesting people. I love those kind of parties.
Yeah, the kiss on the cheek thing sometimes throws me. I always lean the wrong way, never know if I should kiss them back, feel awkward if it is a guy because I'm married and I shouldn't be kissing another man. I've never been good at it, but yet I think we Americans should be better at it.
