Last week of Summer

(I know, better late than never... there will be a few more of these "belated" posts)
So, after our travels from Durham, NC to Mesa, AZ to Orange County, CA... it wouldn't be complete without a visit to Burley, ID!! We ended our summer by spending a week in Burley with John's family. It was the best time to be in Burley because 1) it was fair week and 2) it was the Twin Falls Temple open house. The only bad things about going at this time is 1) the corn wasn't ready. When we usually go for fair week we eat corn on the cob for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and then come home with bags and bags of it. But darn it, we were off by just a few weeks. and 2) John's sister Kyerin was out of town so we haven't seen her since Christmas. We had such a fun time.

The Beautiful Twin Falls Temple!
This is us at the Burley Parade during fair week. I can't believe how much candy was thrown at us! Maybe I just don't go to a lot of parades?
Gettin friendly with the horsey

Watching Jesse and Grandpa get the cow all pretty to show at the fair the next day... and he's picking his nose! Lovely

Wild cow ride :-) OK not really, but Jack thought it was pretty cool.

Hanging out with G&G Gochnour at the fair.

Well, I learned that the smells of cow poop, dust, dutch oven coals, and fried funnel cakes doesn't mix well with a newly pregnant nose! I spent a good amount of time in the fair grounds bathroom. At least the maple bars were as amazing as ever :-) That was one good smell. I waited in line for 45 minutes all by myself (John was in watching the rodeo with his dad and I REALLY wanted one. If I would have known it was gonna be 45 min, I would have made him come with me... Oh well, it was well worth the wait!)

We had a blast going up to a camp site for one of the days we were in Burley. John (and Jack) went for a ride in the "Boat" as Jack calls it and John and I went 4 wheeling. So much fun.

After we ate lunch, the chipmunks came to clean up after us. Jack was highly entertained by it all.

I'm so glad that I got to see you guys at least once while you where in Burley. Too bad Greg had to miss it. I looks like you guys had a great time and I heard your coming back for Christmas? I hope so, it would be fun to let Jack and Eva play together.
