Valentines Celebration

We don't celebrate Valentines Day on Feb 14th... we celebrate ten days later, on Feb. 24th because that's the day we got engaged. Plus it worked out nicely because I was in AZ this year on Feb. 14th. For Christmas John gave me a flight to AZ for this weekend because it was 1) my parent's 40th wedding anniversary and 2) my youngest sister, Ashlyn was the last of all 9 of us Soelberg girls to do the Jr. Miss Scholarship program. She was absolutley AMAZING (more details and pictures to come).

I made a fabulous dinner (if I do say so myself)!! I marinated pork tenderloin, sauted onions and bacon pieces and put them on top of green beans, served with delicious mashed potatoes on the side.

Don't be fooled, this wasn't as romantic and quiet as it looks...

Jack chowed with us in his highchair! Those beautiful flowers were on the table when I came back from my trip to AZ. They are called "Exotic and Everlasting" Phalaeonopsis Orchids. John gave them to me because he said, "just like these flowers are everlasting, so is our love!!" I dug through and found pictures of the night we got engaged. I put them all over the door and Jack REALLY wanted to do something too. So, we cut out hearts, colored on them, and as soon as John walked through the door he exclaimed, "Daddy, I color hearts for you!" Then Jack RAN over to the door and started counting, "Oh, Yots (lots) of hearts"

Can't complain when your husband's favorite treat is rice crispy treats. They're so easy and take 2 seconds! Plus, holidays make it fun to do creative things with them. Happy Vtines babe... I love you.
