Celina is one of my very best friends here in Durham, NC. She has been my visiting teaching companion for the past 2 years, my boys absolutely LOVE her (pretty much their second mom) and she has been huge blessing in my life.
Celina's actual birthday is Feb. 24th but I helped throw her a birthday party that Saturday the 27th. We had so much fun! It was held at her house (she's house sitting for this family she nannied for last year. They're in Spain for the year and their house is unbelievably beautiful, located right on the Duke trail, and just minutes walk to campus).

I asked what kind of cake she wanted and a few days later she brought over this huge book with this recipe bookmarked. Apparently she's I've been wanting this cake for a long time. Have I ever mentioned how much I appreciate when people have opinions about food, entertainment, ect... I rarely have opinions when it comes to that kind of stuff and the hardest thing for me is to come up with an idea. So, when it's given to me bookmarked an all... the hard part is over. Now, I just get to make it pretty :-) So here's the master piece and YES everything is from scratch. In making the frosting I learned that evaporated milk (when you don't have cream) can be used to help turn clumpy, grainy chocolate into smooth, spreadable chocolate. Thanks for the recipe Celina, it was rather tasty if I do say so myself!!
