Snow Day #2

Feb 13th, 2010

Jack woke up early this snowy Saturday morning and since John and I each take a day of the weekend to sleep in, it was my turn to get up with the early risers!! So, Jack and I went on a date to Dunkin Donuts. We had a buy 6, get 6 free coupon and brought some home to daddy and Jonah.

It snowed all night long and we woke up to this beautiful, white world. This is the drive to campus. I'm pretty sure I have a picture of this exact stop in every single season... I'll have to see.

I think snow is so beautiful. Maybe it's because I haven't seen much of it in my life time but it makes me so happy when it snows. I love that it's white, and dark and bright all at the same time, and how peaceful, clean, and beautiful it makes the world around me.

That night John and I went to the Duke vs. Maryland game. It just happened to also be Coach K's 1000 game AND his birthday. It was such a cool, memorable game to go to. They did all kinds of recognition, alumni were there for him that night and the entire stadium sang him happy birthday. It was awesome.
I'm not going to lie and say that Cameron Crazies are polite and well mannered because they are NOT. Apparently the Maryland coach sweats a lot. And for for some reason the crazies love to make fun of that so much that they made signs that say, "Sweat Gary Sweat". I was appalled my 1L year when I heard this for the first time. When there's a tough call, or when he gets angry, or stands up, the crowd holds up these signs, point to the coach and chants "Sweat Gary Sweat... Sweat Gary Sweat" . I participate in most cheers, but NOT this one. I think it is so mean!! Once he sets foot in Cameron Indoor Stadium, Gary knows he will never hear the end of it... Who wouldn't sweat coaching a team against the blue devils!?! Doesn't mean we have to make fun of them for it.
