We're heading up north!!

We get to see Daddy!!! It's been 2 weeks since John left to DC and we're so excited we get to see him. I got all ready to go Wednesday night and then I remembered I hadn't gotten the oil changed AND it started pouring, so I decided to leave Thursday instead. We weren't really going to see him until after work on Thursday anyway, so this was much better. One more night in our own beds, me not driving alone in the rain at night...

I left right in time for naps! It was beautiful... The drive is only 4 hour and we didn't stop once. They both slept for about 2 1/2 hrs and I enjoyed a little Pride and Prejudice on CD. Thursday night we went straight to "Grandmom Lauri" and Dan's apartment. It's been very quiet without them in Durham! We hung out there for about 45 minutes until John was done with work. That night we ate at a fantastic Indian place in Georgetown with Lauri, Dan, Lauri's sister, brother in law, and daughter. Our entire summer (2006) living in the Barlow Center, we never ate there... what a shame!! It was so good. The boys got a little rowdy towards the end which made for a quick exit, but we left being filled with good food and good conversation. So fun to be with them.

We enjoyed a very hot day at the National Zoo.
Grandma Lauri came with us (John was at work). We saw the famous Panda Bear.
Jonah REALLY wanted to touch the elephant!! Both of my boys have very INTENSE personalities at a VERY young age :) I'm in for a treat...

After the zoo I picked John up from work and headed straight up to PA to spend time with John's sister and her family. We avoided most of DC traffic on a Friday afternoon, largely because he got off an hour early. Thank you law firm!
It was a beautiful drive with a small rainstorm that brought double rainbow, welcoming us to the beautiful town of Shipensburg, PA!

Okay, I laughed for probably a full five minutes at that picture of Jonah....HYSTERICAL. You've got born-leaders you're raising there! Intensity is the best ingredient for a strong leader!
