7:30AM on August 23, 2010 John and I kissed our two boys good bye and headed to the beautiful state of Hawaii. Call it whatever you want a BAR trip/graduation celebration/5 year anniversary... we have lots of reason to celebrate... so here it is!!
We landed in Honolulu, Hawaii 6 hrs after we left Sky Harbor Airport. Yes, it was a direct flight out of Phoenix and it was wonderful. We watched a movie of our choice (NOT Cars or Jungle Book), ate treats of our choice (NOT goldfish or animal crackers), and read books of our choice(NOT Dr. Seuss or any other picture book)!! It was exhilarating to say the least :)
After a 2 hour lay over and large portions of airport Chinese food we landed on the beautiful island of Kauai.
We decided to not get our rental car until the following night, so we went exploring around our hotel... and THIS is what we found about 10 yards from our hotel!! It was a beautiful sight.
We got there about 4pm and headed straight for the beach. We watched these little critters hide in the sand each time a wave came. There were tonz of them!!
Then we fell asleep on the warm sand to the gorgeous sound of waves crashing against rocks and the ocean floor. Oh it was paradise :)
We ate dinner at one of the 2 restaurants our resort has to offer. We shared a supreme pizza, let the ocean breeze blow on our face and through our hair, and listened to a local Hawaiian serenade us while we ate.
Traveling always makes me tired. Why is that? We couldn't keep our eyes open past 8:30, so what the heck?? We went to bed :)
We can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!!...

Oh I love Hawaii. It is such a beautiful place but yeah Greg and I said the next time we go it will be WITHOUT the kids. Much more relaxing that way. Hope you guys have a great time...i know you will.
P.S. you know Hawaii would be a great place to make baby #3. I'm just say'n.........
Good for you. At first, I was screaming no fair! Shouldn't you be slaving away like the rest of us? But, I eased up. You deserve it and good for you for being able to get everything arranged to go. That is no easy task. Have fun and I'll look forward to your reports.
