Hawaii-- Day #5

Never get sick of these gorgeous sunrises from our hotel balcony!!

We were in no hurry to get up and going this morning because we had our time share presentation at 8:30am. Well, we showed up and turns out we didn't qualify because you either had to 1) own a house and make $55,000 or 2) if you didn't own a house you had to make $77,000. Well, the clerkship pays... but not that much. So, we got our free pineapple juice and headed back to the hotel. I wasn't feeling very good. Very dizzy, sore throat, nauseous, I'm pretty sure because of all the salt water in my ears from snorkeling. Anyway, we rested at the hotel for a while, then headed out for a half day. Thanks John for being so patient with me. I know the adventure in him wanted to GO, GO, GO the entire time but all I needed was a good nap, darn it!! I got it.

We stayed at Kauai Beach Resort. This is the drive from the hotel to the main road. It was a lot prettier than this picture shows.

Wailua Falls was our first stop of the day.

Snorkeling for the last time in Poipu. We met up with our friend the sea turtle also known by Jack as "Crush".

Later that afternoon I snorkeled and did some suveneer shopping while John took a surf lesson.

He's such a stud!!

His "instructor" told John he would carry his board back for him if he got up. Oh he got up alright!! He rocked it.

We hurried home and got ready for our Luau.

The fire dancers were so good!!
Dinner was amazing. I ate WAY too much fresh pineapple and John ate WAY too much pulled pork, we couldn't help it. Tomorrow, another day of hiking and amazing views!!

Wow! (I think I've started every comment about Hawaii with wow) You guys are taking SERIOUS advantage of this trip. Way to go John surfing! Mel, every picture of you in this post is BEAUTIFUL! You're rockin' your bangs! I think you should frame all these--you look like a movie star with your blonde tresses, sunglasses, and bright outfits!

You are such a babe, Mel! Love that picture of you and John (who doesn't look too bad either) by the waterfall. Way to go surfing, John! That's awesome. It is NOT easy.

I just spent who-knows-how-long reading your blog posts and have loved every minute! I'm not a blogger by any definition of the word so it's fun to feel comfortable reading yours!

Over the summer we were in the D.C. area and wish we would've known about John's internship sooner than the week or so before we moved back to GA. It would've been fun to do July 4th with you guys! Your blog will be added to our sorely neglected blog very soon.

Happy Hawaii days to ya!
