This past weekend John started his spring break. Jack and I hadn't really seen John for the past coulple weeks cuz he had a HUGE paper due the Friday before spring break. We were very excited for him to be done. So, to start off spring break with a bang, we rented this awesome cabin about 2 1/2 hours away. It was completely baby proof, came with a pack-n-play and a high chair. It couldn't get more perfect ha? Needless to say, we had a great weekend. Here's a few of the highlights...
Our #1 requirement for the cabin was that it had TV cuz it was the DUKE VS. UNC game Saturday night. We're still crying that we lost :-( So sad 
Our #2 requirement was a hot tub! It snowed all day on Saturday so that was extra fun. Jack really enjoyed it as well. He thought he was in a giant bath tub!
It took a while for Jack to become comfortable with the place (he wouldn't let us put him down for a while. Kinda weird) but as soon as we pulled out his toys, he felt right at home!
On one side of the cabin the view was thick trees/forrest, but on the other side we had this great view off our deck. Jack was very excited to see so many cows. There's no doubt that he's got good Idaho blood in him. He loves cows! Daddy trying to get him to moooo!
I just love this sink! I thought it was so cool. 
John thought he could take a nap on the couch... but Jack had different plans :-) He wanted to play Peek-a-Boo with Daddy.

There was this awesome "Cabin Store" in the little town just a few minutes from the cabin. Jack was a little concerned about the huge bear!
Daddy teaching Jack how to make a fire. Too bad the firewood was soaking wet when we got up there... lets just say we're glad the heater in the cabin worked cuz the firewood sure didn't! (Nothing against my husband's awesome boy scout skills)
We had delicous shish-ka-bobs. (They had an AWESOME grill)
The wind was VERY COLD! Nice hair Jackers.

WOW!! That looks so fun! How in the world did you find one that was baby proof? I love that hot tub picture! It looks like John is thinking about how much he loves you...thank you SheraMae for teaching him to pucker! Haha.

Melanie!It's Chelsey (Clayton) Howard. I found your blog on Amy's. I heard you got married, but I didn't know you had a little boy. He's so cute. I'm happy to see that your doing well. You are such a sweetheart. That's nice that you guys were able to get away and spend time with one another. Vacation time is the best thing in the world.
Looks like SO much fun! We're looking forward to our own getaway next week for Grant's spring break. Aren't you glad that nasty first year paper is over and done?! Keep up the good work, boys! Almost done with first year! :)

Hi melanie it's Jen Hawkins (formerly anderson) I went to mtn view with you and i found your blog on Chelseys blog. How are things? Well as you can see if you look at my blog I married Chad Hawkins (used to havde the fro remember) We had a baby 7 months ago and his name is Logan, he is such a blessing. You have the cutest family. I'm glad to see things are going well. And I still think you should have won JR Miss by the way.

hey guys! how's it all going?! we haven't talked to you in a while!! I can't believe Jack, he's getting so big! I don't know if you heard but Shane and Ashley had their second baby. A little boy named Rylan. We haven't seen him yet cause we're in Canada but we will be in UT this weekend so we are pumped to see the little guy!
Anyway, you guys look great! It looks like you're having an awesome time! Drop us a line sometime if you get a minute!
BTW, I was showing Nate your entry on the Duke game and he was sooo jealous! That would be so fun!!!

Mel, those were some of our favorite memories living away... our family vacations!! So fun to have your own spot. Who knows, maybe you can make it back to the same place next year! :)
