My Birthday

I had a WONDERFUL birthday this year. Thanks to my sweetheart husband, he made everything so special. Quite possibly the best birthday I've ever had. It started off with Breakfast in bed... Well, almost! I woke up before he did, so that kinda ruined his plan. John was expecting Jack to wake him up a little early, then get breakfast and let me sleep in. But, I enjoyed waking up with him and eating at the table is always less messy! We tried a southern staple... Buiscutville. Pretty tasty stuff!
John got me very cute summer clothes. I was very proud of him for getting all the right sizes too! He did awesome. I also got an Ipod base so we can play music in the house. I LOVE having it so much. I listen to music 99% more now that I have that. I would still like to update and delete music from my ipod, but when I got my comp. cleaned of all its viruses, I lost Itunes, but I still have all the music on my ipod? I don't know anything about this kind of stuff. Anyone help me out? Maybe my little bro will know... I'll call Mark.

Next, John and I went to the temple. The temple here is just so
beautiful. Definitely the smallest we've ever been to, but so pretty. It was so fun to go together. After that we went to lunch and because of my love for Italian food, we decided to try a new place. Maggiano's Little Italy is perhaps our new favorite place EVER. I don't think John and I have ever had better food, service, and atmosphere. That waiter bent over backwards to make sure our first experience at Maggiano's was perfect... and it was!

Later that afternoon, John said that he had a surprise for me. All he told me was that I had an appointment at 4pm at the mall. I thought it was a makeover or something. Well, it was a one hour massage! At first, I didn't want to get too excited because I didn't want it to be a joke. But as soon as I realized he was for real... I was pretty much in love with him all over again! All I have to say is if you haven't ever had one... it's a MUST!

Before:
My other birthday present was to move Jack out of our bedroom! When he was upstairs with us, he did have his own little cubby area (as you can see in the pic) and we closed it off with these cute curtains AmyLyn made for me- thanks sis. We didn't by any means need the space, (our master bedroom is huge) but Jack knew we were on the other side of those curtains and would cry until we came and got him out of bed. Then I would nurse him and he'd go back to sleep. But now he is in his own room and completely done nursing! We should have moved him to his own room a very long time ago... not so I could stop nursing, but so that we could all get a good nights rest. Oh well, better late than never, right?! It was a big step to put him all the way downstairs, but it has been so great to have our own room!

After:

The finished product! He finally has his own room. Hooray :-)

Between the temple, lunch and a message, I didn't get to be with Jack very much that day (thank you Natalie and Ariel for watching the little bug). But, the few minutes we were with him, he crashed and burned pretty hard. If you look closely, you'll see Jack's lovely shiner. John was playing Jack's favorite spinning game and John said, "Oh, I'm too dizzy to do that again" so he put Jack down and didn't realize that Jack was also a little dizzy too. He fell down and hit his noggin on a kitchen chair. Poor little guy! John felt so bad. I took this picture literally 60 seconds after it happened. It swelled so fast.

Over all it was a fabulous birthday. John did a very good job at making me feel special all day long. We ended up not eating any dinner (we were so full from lunch still) but had scrumptious cheesecake (one of four desserts our awesome waiter brought to us). I'm tellin ya, you all need to go. Anyway we finished off the day by watched the Bee Movie and then I dreamt all night of my one hour massage! Thanks hunny bunz for such a wonderful birthday. I can't wait to see what you come up with next year! hee hee- you're the greatest.

I am SO GLAD you were born, even if I was the LAMEST sister on earth and didn't call you...I still feel my stomach in knots just thinking about it...but anyway, I'm so glad you had a good day! Woo-hoo for Jon!

Happy Belated Birthday!! I've loved reading your blog today. I think I decided to read yours because I was needing to hear from another "law school widow" who could relate to the long and lonely hours of finals!! Take care during finals. At least our little boys will keep us plenty busy, right?! Love you guys! And your summer plans sound FABULOUS!! Good luck!
