First Day of Soccer

Jack had his first day of soccer today and I wasn't surprised one bit when he immediately fell in love with it.
Durham Parks and Recreation has a league called "Little Tykes". It is free for children ages 3-5 as long at there is "strong parental involvement". So, I thought it would be fun to get Jack involved in something he has to look forward to.

He said, "Thanks so much Mom for letting me come to here. I love this soccer place."

During warm ups he continually checked to make sure I was still there...

about 5 minutes later, he could care less where I was!

Jonah enjoyed chasing the extra balls laying around.

I'm pretty sure he was the only kid listening to every single word the coach was saying. After a few drills the coach came up to me and said, "I can't believe this is his first time on the soccer field. I've been coaching for YEARS and I can tell... Jack JUST gets it! I've never seen a 3 year old listen so intently and then perform so precisely. He has intensity, drive, and determination at the first practice... he's gonna be good!"

After the official practice, John did a few runs with Jack and after a little while, Jack layed on the turf and said, "I'm too tired Dad. I can't go anymore". Well coach, so much for that drive and determination!?!?
