April Wrap Up

Random April Happenings

I told Jack to get dressed and he came out wearing Jonah's shorts! Kinda crazy... they almost still fit him (2 years later).

Jack taking matters into his own hands. He's getting into the rice crispy treats I "hid" on top of the toaster oven. Well guess what? He found them and didn't bother asking me for help.

Ariel's husband graduated from Duke Law our 1L year. She came back in April to defend her dissertation and I did a girls lunch for her to see all her friends. It was so good to see her again. It was been WAY too long. I LOVE this girl.

We had our friends (Eric and Liz Teasdale) over for dinner. They brought a fantastic quiche as well as pumpkin struesle for dessert. They were both sooo yummy. Their little girl, Ariana, is Jonah's age and she's so cute!

April is the most gorgeous month here in Durham. These bushes of HOT pink flowers are everywhere. The picture doesn't do justice.

While I was putting Jonah to sleep upstairs Jack decided to make himself some cupcakes. I guess I didn't hide to food coloring well enough. Green water lined the inside of my burners and was dripping down my stove and counter tops. Don't forget the box of frilly toothpicks he threw in for good measure. Maybe he thought he wanted to be Elphaba from Wicked.

I do look forward to Summer because of all the fun salads I get to try. I finally made Cafe Rio's sweet pork salad for the first time. Not only that, I made the rice, beans, and cilantro dressing to go with it. It was very pleasing to my taste buds!! I found it on this blog.

Jack built this track all by himself. I think we might have an engineer on our hands!

Jack got ahold of my camera and started snapping.

So, tonz of my friends here in NC coupon. It's a crazy addiction (so I've heard) and you get crazy deals on lots of great stuff for pretty much nothing. Well, I walked into my friend's house and saw that she had 15 boxes of Lucky Charms... $0.19 EACH!! I couldn't believe it. I simply said, "I should do that because Lucky Charms are John's favorite and I never buy them because they're too expensive". Wouldn't you know that the next day we found this on our door step. She's so thoughtful. Thanks Cathy.

I love mornings with my boys in our PJ's!!

These geese are daily visitors in our backyard. We can't wait until their goslings hatch.

We are deep cleaning getting ready for the move. We've sold lots of stuff on craigslist AND had our first garage sale!! It was a must bigger success than I ever thought. We made over $160 on stuff we were just going to throw away.

Well, there's our April in a nutshell!
