Welcome to Hershey, PA!!! Saturday June 5th we went to Hershey, PA. It was about an hour from John and Kyerin's house in Shippendburg so we made a day out of it. We didn't go to the amusement park due to the crowd... little kids don't care about big roller coasters, but we had a blast at...

CHOCOLATE WORLD!!

We drove down Chocolate Ave and ooed and awwed at the cool light poles in the shape of kisses.

We learned how "Hershey Kisses" got their name. After many failed attempts to "re name" the Hershey "kiss" they couldn't find anything they liked better. So, they stuck with the original name which comes from the sound that the machine makes when it "spits" the chocolate out... a kissing sound!

We took a trolly ride around the town and learned all about the Hershey family and his brilliant discovery to combine milk and chocolate. So, the factory was built in this beautiful open land of Pennsylvania right next to a dairy farm, so they could have plenty of milk for their chocolate.

Jonah was even impressed!! I think he was planning his escape route in this picture...Sorry dude, I'm pretty sure someone would notice if you stole that candy bar :)

The candy store was nuts!! There were so many people, chocolate/candy at every corner, shirts, hats, key chains... it was insane.

Thanks to my friend (Becky Adams) suggestion we got the Hershey's Chocolate shake. It was divine!!

We stopped at some outlets on the outskirts of Hershey and I bought a really cute pair of jeans at J-Crew. Anyway, I couldn't help but notice this awesome vending machine when I walked by...

We went back to Moody's that night and John grilled us the most amazing chicken I've ever had in my life. He grilled it for about one hour on VERY low heat with this awesome maranide/rub on it... it was so yummy :) Later that night we bathed the kids, I helped Kyerin start a blog, John read to the kids, Jonah fell down wood stairs and landed on a cement floor, and we all went to bed!

We left early Sunday morning in attempts to make it back to our friend's baby blessing in DC. This funny sign is right outside of John and Kyerin's house. I've never seen a sign so specific, but apparently Kyerin didn't see it (on the 2nd Tuesday of the month) and got a ticket. So the next day, she parked across the street just in case and the sign across the street says the same thing except it says, "the 2nd Wed. of the month"!! So, she got 2 tickets in one week... Oh we couldn't stop laughing... total bummer.

Thanks for such a fun weekend, Moodys. We're so sad it was so short. Let's do it again soon.
