Each spring we've lived in Durham, we've taken full advantage of the beautiful strawberry patches that are all over this beautiful town. This year they came on a little later than usual, but no complaints... it gave us something fun to do and look forward to graduation weekend.
Jonah was a HUGE helper!!
I love that you can barely see Jonah's cute little head behind all the strawberries. (to the left of me)

After we bought all the strawberries we could fit in our fridge, we headed to Falls Lake for an afternoon at the "beach". It was relaxing, good to be out of our cute, little apartment, and a beautiful day for a picnic. We packed our little propane grill and BBQ'd hamburgers and hotdogs on the lake.

Will someone please take that 20 lb. diaper off of that cute kid??
aahhhh, much better :)
yummy, sandy apple!!
Later that evening, we left all the kids with "Grandma Lauri Leslie" and went to Baccalaureate. They told us we couldn't get in without a ticket and although we only had 4 for the 6 of us, we all managed to get in because there was plenty of over flow in an auditorium near by. Yes, it would have been really cool to watch the "religious service" it in the Chapel, but the seats we sat in were really comfy and we couldn't see/be with John anyway. After that wonderful meeting John and I took our parents out to dinner. We wanted to 1) thank them for coming to graduation 2) introduce them to NC BBQ. We ate at the Q shack... classic Durham favorite.
We came home to clean kids, fresh out of the bath. I'm not sure how she was able to find anything clothes, towels, soup in the mess of moving, graduation, and hosting 2 sets of parents but she's a mom, and my kid's adopted grandma so somehow, she just does it! I love her so much. I made a quick pan of Rice Crispy treats and had a little get together with some of our neighbors who were also graduating. We have absolutely loved our little LDS community here at Taylors Pond and will miss our friends greatly when we all split in a few days.
