Let the Graduation festivities begin...

Suzanne has been in Pennsylvania helping Kyerin (John's sister) with brand new baby Morgan. After she spent 10 days touring the outer banks with Madi, she showed up Tuesday afternoon for the graduation festivities. We spend the evening together at Jack's last soccer game. It was a beautiful night to be outside and I was sick of packing, so off we went.

Wednesday May 12, 2010
We spent most of the day packing up the house. We didn't want that to be our focus graduation weekend, so I have been working VERY hard at getting as many boxes as possible taped up and out of the way. We made good headway today.
That evening all of the graduates were invited to hike to the top of the Duke Chapel.

downtown Durham

Symbolic that the chapel is shaped like a cross. At the very top of the cross is where the organ/choir performs.
That night we picked up my parents from the airport.

Thursday May 13th, 2010
We headed down to the State Farmers Market for a delicious fresh farmers breakfast. The garden omelet was fantastic!!
On our was home, we drove through downtown Raleigh and showed them the Capitol Building.
After all of us took very long naps, we headed down to the Tobacco Museum to educate ourselves and our parents about Durham/Duke's history

We wish John's dad could have been with us, but his flight didn't get in until later that night. He would have loved the museum, but we really didn't have any other time to do it.
Glade, Carol, Me, John, Suzanne then of course Jack, Jonah and Madi
Tobacco Leaves just starting out...

Later that evening we left Madi, Jack, and Jonah with my parents. Suzanne bought a last minute ticket to Wicked (which was playing at DPAC) and John and I headed to the Gala Dinner. John was on the class gift committee and he went here tonight and presented the check to the Dean for the 2010 Law School class gift. The exceeded their financial goal.
I had the realization tonight that graduation really is here. In my mind I said "good bye" to a lot of our friends this night because I knew we probably wouldn't see them all at the hooding ceremony on Saturday evening.
