Blood Poisoning...

John went to Catalina Island Saturday July 18th with the law firm. While he was there he was there he must have stepped on something because the next morning before church he said, "Mel will you look at the bottom of my foot and see if there's anything there?" I responded, "It's probably athletes foot or something". I told him I'd buy some creme if it didn't' get better..
When we got home from church he said he was in tremendous pain: this is what it looked like...

Then a few hours later, this is what it looked like. We googled the symptoms (so thankful for the internet) and the diagnosis of "blood poisoning" appeared. What the heck is that? So, soaked it in Epsom Salt and got an appointment at the urgent care first thing Monday morning and sure enough, he came home with an antibiotic for "blood poisoning"...
one of the symptoms is a bright red vein running up the top of your foot and up your leg...
you can't really see it in this picture, but it was scary!
Monday night he came home from work early because he couldn't walk and this is what it looked like...

We had a pool party for FHE that night (with Peggy and Hal's family and the Walkers) But, Dr's orders: keep it as dry as possible and take the antibiotic! No swimming for John that night. He healed rather quickly and we're very glad it wasn't more serious. Who would have thought we'd have this new adventure... blood poisoning?!
