"Give Thanks" RS Turkey Dinner

My calling/responsibility right now in my ward is the "RS Meeting" (formally called "Enrichment") Leader. I, along side a wonderful committee and RS counselor, get to plan activities for women in our church. These (nearly) monthly activities are something I love planning and very much look forward to!

On Thursday November 12th, we had our ward's Relief Society holiday dinner. We have traditionally done a Christmas dinner, but this year we decided to do a Thanksgiving dinner and I LOVED having it in November. It was the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit PLUS it was before schedules get too crazy. Our theme was "Give Thanks" and our thought for the night was: “He who has a thankful heart and cultivates the spirit of appreciation will find much to be grateful for each hour of every day.” -Hugh B. Brown

Thanks to my rockin committee, it turned out very beautiful.

Of course, you don't go to a church function without TONZ of food :-)

...and lots of babies!
Kaylynn taught us how to fold these fancy napkins! There was not an empty chair in the room. With 66 women in attendance, we were very cozy in our Relief Society room! We're so glad so many women came to celebrate the season and eat yummy food. I LOVE relief society!!

The decorations turned out AWESOME!! Throw a few of twinkle lights, a GIANT embroidery hoop, white fabric, tape and pins together and you'll get this... hanging from the ceiling!!

My committee is the BEST :-) Couldn't have done it without you!

Katie Felburg, Kaylynn Osmond, Lindy Dimond, Ashley Rutledge, Me, Rachel Oswald, Necia Gooch and Amy Hansen.

Me and the lovely Necia Gooch hanging out in the kitchen!... She is the Relief Society Counselor over the RS meetings, so we work together on everything and can I just say: I LOVE working with this wonderful woman. She is the most thoughtful, unselfish, sincere, inspired person I've ever met! I have learned so much from her and I'm so grateful for her in my life. Our personalities and brains work so well together it's kinda scary sometimes!! We call each other our "Partner in crime". Happy Holidays everyone!
