NC State Farmer's Market

We've been wanting to get Jack an alarm clock (in hopes that he might stay in his room until 7am... not 2am or 4 am... too many frequent visits in the middle of the night). Anyway he has this Thomas the Train book where James (the red train) gets an alarm clock to keep him running on time. And I found this clock on craigslist and it looks exactly like the one in the book. We'll give it a try. Hopefully we'll all get a little more sleep. Anyway, I was planning on picking it up in Raleigh (about 30 minutes away) and it was the same exit as the Farmers Market, so I talked my friend Lauri into coming with me... all because of this clock!
purple, white and orange pumpkins!!
I was so excited to find these special kind of peppers (far left) that I haven't seen since we were in Bulgaria. I made yummy stuffed peppers. John said they even tasted Bulgarian!! That made me so happy :-)
who knew there were so many differnt kinds of eggplant
Jack fell asleep on the way there so he's still waking up in this picture, but enjoying a delicious crisp fall apple.

Yet another wonderful morning with my boys (and Lauri)!

I bought a beautiful bunch of fresh basil just as the guy behind the table grabbed the rest that were in the bucket and put them in a grocery bag to go out the the dumpster. He said it was old and soggy and didn't want to sell it to anyone... so he gave it to me (for free) and Lauri and I came home and made the most delicious pesto. I bought fresh tomatoes and mozz cheese and I've already made pesto pasta with roasted veggies, pesto pizza, and pesto panini's with tomatoes and melted mozz cheese. My mouth is watering... it's time to go again!!
