In the past I have usually done a huge chili party on Halloween. This year I decided against it because of one large factor... I was too tired! The first week of October we spent getting Jack better. He was VERY sick for an entire week with sore throat, fevers, runny nose. Plus we had our big October "RS meeting" (formally known as Enrichment and that' my calling right now) and I was really busy with that. The second week we spent in Disney World, the next week John was gone to Utah, then the next week John was WAY behind and busy with school and it's Halloween... I was SO tired. But the holiday itchin got to me (and I had so much fun at our FHE party) and so I decided to do a really small party for Jack and it was called "Jack's-O-Lantern" party. We invited 4 other little boys Jack's age and played a few silly games and ate yummy food!

Thanks everyone for bringing something (Nat, sorry there's no pic of your food... I had already taken the "food" pictures after you got there, but your pumpkin brownies looked fabulous!!) I served my mother-in-law's famous sweet chili (everyone loves it mom!!) along with the Pumpkin cake, eyeballs and witches brew. Rachel brought the fabulous spider cupcakes, Camille the darling fruit cup jack-o-lanterns, and Amy the yummy dried fruit eyeballs!! Thanks everyone.
I was upstairs getting ready when I heard a loud "Oh NO!!!" followed by a crash from downstairs. I quickly yelled, "what happened?" John said, "Well, we've lost our eyeballs!" Jack wanted to "help" daddy do the finishing touches on the eyeballs but he didn't know the strength (or length) of his own wings. Running past the table, his wings caught hold and the entire plate and powdered donuts went flying all over the floor... I'd heard of flying ghosts and witches on Halloween, but never eyeballs!!
so I turned on a movie and he sat on the couch and ate donuts until his friends came!! We didn't want anymore eyeballs to go flying off the table! (Don't worry, we gave our friends fair warning before offering them eyeballs from off of our freshly vacuumed/swept floor!)
